About

I’m Erin. I’m the momma in a hungry, picky, and unorganized family of 5. Well.. that’s not entirely true. The pickiness and the disorganization are largely on the two of us grownups. (And the littlest guy, but that’s kind of par for the course with a toddler.) The two older boys (ages 7 and 4) will eat – or at least try – just about anything. And often lots of it.

I must admit that I am NOT the handiest in the kitchen. I make a mean grilled cheese, but that’s all I’ll claim to make well. Thankfully, I’ve got an amazing man who IS pretty handy in the kitchen, and even rather enjoys it. Now and then I hunt down a simple enough meal that I can do it, and he’s pleased.. but I still gotta give him the credit for being the main chef in the house.

Over the decade or so that we’ve been married, my husband and I have tried several times to start keeping our favorite recipes in a central location. When we find a recipe (or tweak it enough) that everyone loves, it’s like a little bit of gold and we want to hang on to it. However, this has always ended in disarray. We’ve got little notebooks with recipes jotted down on a few pages. We’ve got a few handfuls of recipe index cards tucked here and there. There are dog-eared cookbooks that are literally falling apart on our bookshelf from the amount of times we’ve tried to flip through to find it.

Finally the obvious solution hit me.. put ’em all on a blog! I may not know how to cook, but I know how to blog! Then they’ll always be here, in one spot, never able to be misplaced or accidentally slipped down the miniscule crack between the stove and counter ever again! Oh the excitement. So.. that’s all this is. It’s not a “foodie” blog, none of these are terribly ground-breaking recipes, they’re just all recipes that have worked for our family. Feel free to try them if you wanna.
